Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Operations and Facilities is expected to oversee all aspects of facilities management of a large, state-of-the-art, complex research facility. The function of this position is to provide direction, supervision and accountability for all services and projects directly affecting the building's daily operations, all building systems and grounds and equipment inventory. Additional responsibilities will include working with appropriate campus units to develop facility operating policies, procedures and protocols.
The Director of Operations and Facilities will also be responsible for coordinating the design of minor building revisions. He or she will be responsible for maintenance/construction work performed by Facilities & Services (F&S) staff or outside contractors in IGB space, as well as monitoring the work/repair progress and coordinating with F&S staff as needed to ensure a timely resolution/completion. In addition, he or she will coordinate routine/preventative maintenance as needed on various building systems and equipment and utilize F&S online systems to request and monitor work orders and Contractor Services Requests.
The Director of Operations and Facilities will serve as the first emergency contact for the IGB, communicating 24/7 with Public Safety and Facilities & Services as needed regarding issues with building systems. The incumbent will be responsible for establishing a process for handling building emergencies within the Operations and Facilities group.
He or she will also be responsible for administrative supervision of the facilities staff as it relates to the IGB daily operations. This includes shipping and receiving, occupational safety and F&S trades assigned to the IGB.
Qualifications: A minimum of three years' experience in facilities/operations management in an academic setting is required. A bachelor's degree is required. Strong project management skills, excellent communications skills, and the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization are required.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is a 12-month, 100% time academic professional appointment with regular University benefits. The proposed starting date is negotiable after the close date.

The Logistics Manager will develop and maintain transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency by Selecting appropriate delivery methods to minimize freight and total delivery costs while maximizing customer satisfaction. Responsible for the service, documentation, and movement of Company shipments destined to and from domestic and international customers. Also responsible for inbound shipments from domestic and international suppliers. This position manages 9 corporate traffic, shipping, receiving and warehouse function.
- Identify new carriers and freight forwarders, obtain quotes, and negotiater ates for both inbound and outbound freight traffic (domestic and international).
- Quote, schedule, and follow up on emergency and special customer order shipments.
-Prepare and/or is responsible for preparation of all shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices (HTS and Schedule B codes), SEDs, etc.
- Maintain contact with customer forwarder/broker on international shipments, both inbound and outbound.
- Work closely with subordinates to coordinate shipments (domestic, imports / exports), to assure paperwork and documentation is in order, and product arrives on time.
- Communicate with Sales and Customer Service to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods.
- Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with specifications (i.e. packaging).
- Maintain adequate and accurate files and documentation that will pass government transportation audits (i.e. U.S. Customs).
- Handle claims for damaged or lost goods.
- Audit, or arrange for auditing of freight invoices to assure accuracy and the most cost effective methods of transportation are being utilized.
- Manage and maintain corporate fleet vehicles and assure compliance with the rules and regulations of the Department of Transportation.
- Manage warehouse operations to assure inventory accuracy and effective, efficient use of space.
